From the moment you arrive at Malecón Sur, the inviting atmosphere and attentive service set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. With dedicated parking and a clean, welcoming space complete with air conditioning, this spot offers both comfort and flavor in equal measure.
The menu boasts an impressive variety of mariscos that celebrate regional traditions with a fresh twist. Highlights include the Aguachile Negro and Callo en Aguachile Rojo, dishes that burst with bold, vibrant flavors that dance across the palate. The callo, tender and perfectly seasoned, is a standout that captures the essence of Baja’s seafood. Equally delicious are the fish tacos, served on warm corn tortillas with light breading and a creamy, spicy dressing—simple yet expertly crafted.
Grilled fish and shrimp are prepared to perfection here, offering smoky, rich flavors complemented by the restaurant’s signature smokey salsa. This salsa elevates every bite, adding depth without overwhelming the natural freshness of the seafood. The shrimp cocktail and frappes provide a cool, refreshing balance, perfect for enjoying under the Baja sun or inside the comfortably cool dining room.
Service at Mariscos La Morena is consistently praised for its warmth and efficiency, with staff like Alejandra offering genuine smiles and attentive care that enhance the overall dining experience. Whether you’re craving tacos, enchiladas, or a full meal of freshly grilled fish, this is a place where local flavors meet friendly hospitality.
While some minor details like the washing of patas de mula could see improvement, the overall quality and freshness of the dishes more than compensate. The lively vibe, generous portions, and unbeatable seaside views make Mariscos La Morena not just a meal, but a lasting memory of San Felipe’s vibrant culinary scene.
“ Ordered a couple of items here. Aguachile Negro, Callo en aguachile rojo, patas de mula, shrimp cocktail and frappes. The service was excellent. All the food excellent. The only reason why I give them 4 stars is because the oatas de mulas weren't washed properly and still had lots of mus. The callo en aguachile was amazing! Super delicious and highly recommend it. Frappes were great too! Will definitely return here. ”
“ They have AC room then you can enjoy your sea food without sweating hahaha good food, my only recommendation is to have colder beers! ”
“ I love this place, always consistent and food is really good! I love the grilled fish and shrimp and the whole fried fish, off the hook. Always great service and ask for the special smokey salsa! ”
“ I've been traveling to Baja consistently for 18 years and when in San Felipe, this is my go to for tacos y cervezas. From the moment you park, the attendants, especially Alejandra are amazing! Greeting you with smiles and excitement in seeing a friendly face, my family and I enjoy the food, the service, and the liveliness of this restaurant. Whether you're enjoying tacos, enchiladas, or mariscos, you are sure to experience flavor and fun with your dining experience! Enjoy!! ”
“ A good simple meal. I got the fish tacos with corn tortillas. They were well seasoned with a light breading. They are served with toppings and a good creamy dressing on the side. The salsa was spicy, which I liked, and the chips were heavy and crunchy. ”
